Privacy Policy
Last updated September 18, 2026.
1. What this covers
This policy explains what information Bill & Debt Snowball ("we," "us") collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
2. Information you provide
When you use the app, you may give us:
- Account information: your email address and password, and optionally your name, a profile photo, a phone number, and your timezone.
- Financial information you enter yourself: income sources, bills, debts, budget categories and amounts, savings accounts and contributions, goals, and any other figures you type into the app. We do not connect to your bank accounts, pull your transactions, or receive this data from anywhere except what you type in directly.
- Two-factor authentication: if you enable it, a shared secret used to verify codes from your authenticator app.
- Issue reports: if you use "Report an issue," the category, message, and which page you were on when you sent it.
3. Information we collect automatically
When you're signed in, we log which pages of the app you visit and when — for example, that you opened the Debts page. This is stored in our own database, tied to your account, and used only to understand which parts of the app people actually use so we can prioritize what to build next. It's never shared with anyone outside the team, never used for advertising, and doesn't involve any third-party analytics or tracking service — see "Where your data is stored" below.
4. How we use it
Mainly, to run the app for you — computing your available cash, your debt payoff plan, your budget, and everything else the app shows you. We also use issue reports to respond to you and fix what you reported, and page-visit data to understand overall usage and decide what to build next. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone except the service provider described below that we rely on to host the app.
5. Where your data is stored
Your account and financial data are stored in a database and authentication system operated by Supabase, our hosting provider. Supabase is currently the only third party with access to your data — we don't use any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services. The page-visit logging described above is entirely first-party: it lives in this same database, alongside everything else, not in a separate analytics product. Your password is never stored in readable form; it's handled entirely by Supabase's authentication system.
6. How it's protected
- All traffic between your device and the app is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Data is encrypted at rest by our hosting provider.
- Every table in the database is locked down so your account can only ever read or write its own data — not other users'.
- You can enable optional two-factor authentication for your login.
- You can end your sessions on every device at once from Settings.
No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we don't cut corners on the basics above.
7. Your control over your data
- Export: download your financial data — income, bills, debts, budgets, goals, and more — as a JSON or CSV file, any time, from Settings. Issue reports aren't included, since they're support correspondence rather than financial data.
- Correct: update your profile, or edit or delete any bill, debt, budget item, or other entry, any time.
- Delete: permanently delete your entire account and everything in it from Settings. This is irreversible — once confirmed, we cannot recover it, even on request.
8. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use cookies for advertising or tracking, and we don't use any third-party analytics.
9. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists — including page-visit logs and issue reports. If you delete your account, all of it is permanently removed right away — we don't keep backups of deleted accounts for later recovery.
10. Children's privacy
Bill & Debt Snowball is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant — for example, adding a new service that processes your data, like bank-linking or payment processing — we'll make that clear before it takes effect.
